Education is one of the clearest long-standing links. South Sudanese students have studied at Zimbabwean universities, with documented cooperation involving institutions such as the University of Zimbabwe, National University of Science and Technology, Midlands State University, Great Zimbabwe University and Harare Institute of Technology. In 2019, reporting documented 69 South Sudanese graduates in Zimbabwe and 79 students still studying there under the relevant exchange/scholarship arrangements.
These educational connections can contribute to a wider diaspora relationship through alumni networks, professional associations, mentoring and skills transfer between Zimbabwe and South Sudan.
